This resource, created by Ellen Spear of Red Rocks Community College, invites students to consider the health and environmental effects of genetically modified food. Students begin by viewing a video titled "The Future of Food," before writing a reflection paper on sustainability and health issues surrounding industrial agriculture today. The activity requires four and a half hours to complete - an hour and a half in class and three hours outside of class. AMSER is funded by the National Science Foundation as part of the National Science Digital Library, and is being created by a team of project partners led by Internet Scout.
