What is Energy?
This resource, created by Liz Hudd of Red Rocks Community College, will invite students to explore the relationship between energy and power. Students will begin by calculating the power output of running and walking up a flight of stairs and move on to calculating the power generation and energy from solar panels on schools. The activity requires two days of in-class work. This two page pdf document contains directions for the teacher, materials needed, and student outcomes. A second pdf titled Energy/Power Performance Task contains the assessment worksheet for this lesson and is also available on Red Rocks Community College's website.
