Description: This resource is a free online version of the Benchmarks compiled and published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). It is a statement of what all students should know and be able to do in science, mathematics, and technology by the end of grades 2, 5, 8, and 12. The document is searchable, and contains links to cognitive research for each benchmark category. Benchmarks does not advocate particular teaching methods or curriculum design. It was developed to provide a research-based sequence of specific learning goals that educators can use in curriculum building.
