Title: Elements of a Closed Loop System
Url: https://www.wisc-online.com/learn/technical/industrial-automation/iau1...
Creator: Bartelt, Terry L. M.
Publisher: Wisconsin Online Resource Center
Description: This interactive presentation, created by Terry Bartelt and hosted by the Electromechanical Digital Library, provides an explanation of how a closed loop system functions. Bartelt explains how "the function of a closed-loop system in industry is to automatically control the operation of a manufacturing process." This consistency allows producers to control one or more variables in the process of manufacturing. The author provides examples such as: pressure, fluid levels, motor speeds, temperature, fluid flow, and even the position of a mechanical device. One of the greatest assets of the presentation is the detailed flash animations/diagrams that Bartelt employs. This not only allows the student to better understand the topic, but it also engages them in the topic.
