Description: In this activity, by the Concord Consortium's Molecular Literacy project, students will learn about molecular crystals. The presentation defines a molecular crystal, and presents its different forms during certain phases, for example polymorphic and amorphic construction. Use of moving diagrams, along with strong textual description, makes this page a useful resource for the classroom. The activity itself is a java-based interactive resource built upon the free, open source Molecular Workbench software. In addition, visitors will find an overview of the activity, assessments, and concepts and their correlation to AAAS and NSES standards.
