Description: The Physics Classroom presents this tutorial on momentum and its conservation. The three laws are three laws are explained and their application to the analysis of the motion of objects in one dimension is discussed. There are four separate lessons which provide an activity and then an assessment exercise in order for students to check their understanding of the concept (s). Some of the key topics included here are: state of motion, force, gravitational pull, vector quantity, force, Newton's second law of motion, and Newton's third law of motion. The tutorial is geared toward high school students, but it is also great review material for college physics students or anyone needing a refresher course in vectors.
