Description:
Shodor is a national resource for computational science education, sponsored by the NSDL and CSERD. In order to help students better comprehend and learn the mathematical components of computer science, Shodor has produced this extensive list of activities and projects that students can complete, or that teachers can assign, in order to understand the relevant ideas and put these ideas in a pertinent context for program design. Included are problems, exercise descriptions, and answer keys where appropriate. The emphasis on math in this website makes the activities described valuable to algebra, geometry, and calculus classes in addition to those professors of computer science. The site will be valuable to educators and students alike as teaching aids and student projects.
