Title: The International Boiling Point Project
Url: http://ciese.org/curriculum/boilproj/
Publisher: Stevens Institute of Technology
Description: Between September 13 and December 10, 1999, the Center for Improved Engineering and Science Education (CIESE) at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey invites students and adults from all over the world to participate in The International Boiling Point Project. "The purpose of this project is to discover which factor in the experiment (room temperature, elevation, volume of water, or heating device) has the greatest influence on boiling point." Students, entire classes, or anyone else interested in participation must register beforehand via an online form. Data submitted online are posted at the site. The deadline for submitting data to be included in the final database is November 19, 1999. The project is an excellent forum for engaging students in the process of simple experimentation and data collection.
