Title: Materials Science and Technology Teacher's Workshop
Url: http://matse1.matse.illinois.edu/
Publisher: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Description: Made available by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the Materials Science and Technology Teacher’s Workshop (MAST) modules were created through the work of high school teachers, university professors and students. Seven modules focusing on materials science topics are available directly through the MAST website. These modules focus on the following topics: metals, semiconductors, concrete, ceramics, polymers, composites, and energy. Each module contains a wealth of information, interactive materials, laboratory activities, videos, quizzes and much more. These materials are geared toward materials science teachers, and many of the resources could be easily incorporated into the classroom. Students will also find MAST useful for its breadth of information, and can use the resources on the site to review for tests or to supplement to their current materials science and materials technology courses.
