Title: Ecosystems: Tools for Science and Math Teachers - The Integration of Science and Math through Ecosystems
Url: https://teachersinstitute.yale.edu/curriculum/guides/1992/5/92.05.06.x...
Creator: Kryszpin, Elizabeth I.
Publisher: Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute
Description: A unit for remedial math students that may also be used for mainstream science and math classes in grades 5-8, using the science-math connection to extract mathematical and arithmetic concepts from the study of ecosystems and ecology. The unit does not attempt to transform a math classroom into a science laboratory; the most complicated experiment uses plastic soda bottles and soil. Topics discussed are small, and then grow in magnitude and complexity.
