In this activity from ATEEC, students will take a virtual field trip in Google Earth to the Alyeska Marine Terminal in Valdez Alaska to explore how oil is transported, the security measures in place, and environmental impacts of the terminal. The goals of the activity are for students to "visualize the setting of the Alyeska Marine Terminal, explore the security issues of the marine terminal, evaluate the environmental concerns of the marine terminal, and consider the movement of oil from the Alyeska pipeline to refineries on the west coast."
