Publisher: National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network
Description:

This lesson, presented by the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network, covers the general concepts of measurement by using a pool noodle to measure objects. The activity "encourages students to consider features that are useful when developing or using a measurement tool." The lesson introduces scale by considering factors of ten which will aid in future lessons about the metric system and possibly even nanotechnology. A Teacher Preparation Guide and Student Guides for K-2 and 3-12 students are included.
