Description: The "New England Journal of Medicine," a weekly journal reporting the results of important medical research worldwide, is provided by the Massachusetts Medical Society and has recently established a presence on the Web. The site provides full text of selected sections of the Journal, including "Images in Clinical Medicine," "Case Records of the Massachusetts General Hospital," "Molecular Medicine," editorials, opinion pieces, correspondence, and book reviews. Original, special, and review articles contain extended abstracts with some or all of the following: background, methods, results, conclusions, and source information. Full text of these articles is available for a fee, and can be ordered online. Journals are available from January 1, 1996 to the present. In addition, the site offers a searchable employment database that contains opportunities in over 40 specialties ranging from addiction medicine to urology; a searchable database of upcoming medical meetings; a selected list of pointers to other medicine related sites including the Centers for Disease Control, National Institutes of Health, and "Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report," among others; and an exhaustive set of guidelines for manuscript submission.
