Title: Jet Engine Types
Url: http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/propulsion/q0033.shtml
Publisher: Aerospaceweb.org
Description: Sparked by a user’s question, the Aerospaceweb site created a page completely dedicated to aircraft powerplant, or engine, technology and types. They combine useful information in paragraph form, while explaining the text with detailed, labeled diagrams. Color pictures are also included, many of which illustrate the movement of air, particles, or exhaust into or from the engine. The page includes numerous links to other pages and sites, such as links to more information or answered questions about powerplants in aircraft and a link to NASA’s “Learning Guide to Propulsion.” The site and all of the information therein is free and well laid out, making it easy to print out the page and distribute to students or classmates.
