Description:
This module from the Marine Advanced Technology Education Center introduces students to computer-aided design tools that can be used to develop Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles (ROVs). Students will learn to design a simple cylindrical electronics housing, build housing penetrations for wiring, discuss methods of removing heat from the housing and calculate the buoyancy provided by the housing. A lecture presentation and a number of different handouts are available for download on this page, as well as some additional useful links. Users must set up a free account to access this resource.
