Title: Electronic Familiarity: Identification of Electronic Components Experiment
Url: http://matse1.matse.illinois.edu/sc/a.html
Publisher: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering
Description: The Materials Science and Technology Teacher's Workshop (MAST) provides this lesson plan which will help students understand the characteristics of basic electronic devices such as diodes, rectifiers, photocells, thermistors, integrated circuits and transistors. The students will get the chance to examine different types of devices with a hand lens magnifier, microscope or stereoscope (depending on what is available). Discussion questions are included in the lesson plan.
