Description:
This activity will demonstrate the process of work hardening and annealing of a copper. Students will get the opportunity to see the hardening of metal by deformation, experience the process of work hardening, explain the effects of work hardening in metals and experience property changes affected by annealing.
This activity would be appropriate for grades 4 through high school and college level, with each age group gaining different educational benefits. Around 60 minutes is required for the demonstration. Student, instructor and course evaluation questions are included.
