Description: This remote sensing lesson from iGETT uses the example of land surface heat emissivity in Yellowstone National Park to give students practical experience using ENVI and ArcGIS software. Understanding and monitoring surface temperatures in Yellowstone is important as this allows for the detection of areas in which increased subsurface geothermal activity may be occurring.
