Title: Summertime, Soda, and Solar Energy- Insulating to Keep Heat In or Out
Url: https://www.ase.org/resources/summertime-soda-and-solar-energy-insulat...
Publisher: Alliance to Save Energy (U.S.)
Description: This lesson plan looks at changes in temperature, and how one adjusts to keep the body comfortable during different times of the year. In cold weather, we insulate to keep heat from escaping, and in hot weather, we aim to keep as much heat out as possible. Students will compare different insulating materials to determine the best material for insulating against heat loss and against heat gain. The activity will also help to explain why insulation is an important part of a solar energy collector.
