Title: African Fractals
Url: http://www.ccd.rpi.edu/Eglash/csdt/african/African_Fractals/index.html
Publisher: Center for Cultural Design (CCD)
Description: The Center for Cultural Design presents this site on African Fractals. Fractals are both visually interesting and mathematically relevant patterns that repeat themselves at different scales. The site includes an interactive applet that helps students understand fractals as applied to geometric concepts. Examples from African culture are included, which makes the site an interesting interdisciplinary learning tool. Be sure to watch Ron Eglash's presentation on African fractals, which is linked to on the front page of the website.
