Description: The Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA) site contains articles and statistics concerning the recording arts industry. The RIAA is a "trade group that represents the U.S. recording industry" and its members are responsible for roughly 90 percent of the sound recordings that are produced and sold in the U.S. A visitor seeking the best of their resources should click on the press room section at the top of the home page, there they will find six main sections, these include: must reads, news/views, guest columns, legal cases, photo gallery and research and data. These sections contain valuable information including current articles from around the web on piracy and new technology to the status of various legal cases that the organization is involved in. Another link from the home page visitors should see is the Issues section. Here users will find information spanning artist contracts, licensing and royalties, and a glossary. In all, this site is a resource that would be useful to instructors as well as students interested in the recording arts.
