Title: Prediction and Predictability in the Atmosphere and Oceans
Url: https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/12-990-prediction-and-predictability-in-th...
Creator: Hansen, Jim
Publisher: Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Description: Part of MIT's innovative OpenCourseWare Project, that provides materials from MIT classes to the public on the web, the materials provided are from a course on the predictability of the atmosphere. If it is to find the weather, or model climate change, predicting the actions of the atmosphere is extremely useful. This course provides mathematical tools that can assist in that modelling, and discusses the challenges that keep us from perfect prediction. The site provides recommended readings, problem sets, and software illustrating the atmospheric dynamics.
