Title: Toxic "Red Tide" Populations in the Western Gulf of Maine: Sources, Transport, and Nutrient Environment

Description: This website features the Red Tide project of the Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Geology Team. The objectives of the project are to characterize the temporal and spatial distribution of the "source" population of toxic Alexandrium cells in the western Gulf of Maine; to characterize the physical transport mechanisms that influence the distribution and fate of toxic Alexandrium cells in the western Gulf of Maine; and to elucidate the manner in which physical dynamics, growth, and the nutrient environment influence toxic Alexandrium cells in the western Gulf of Maine.
