Url: http://www2.honolulu.hawaii.edu/facdev/guidebk/teachtip/rubric.htm
Creator: Allen, Mary
Publisher: University of Hawaii (Honolulu)
Description: Dr. Mary Allen of The California State University System has created this lesson which is one of eight "teaching tips" focused on assessment. This presentation offers a definition of rubrics, lists their strengths, outlines how to develop a rubric, and suggests how to use scoring rubrics for grading and program assessment. The page also features a helpful faculty guidebook. This guide addresses even more instructional question not mentioned in the lesson on rubrics. Additionally, external links containing further discussion on rubrics are also included. Overall, this is a nice introduction into many issues instructors face when creating on enhancing their curriculum.
