Title: Diode Laser
Url: http://phys.educ.ksu.edu/vqm/html/diodelaser.html
Creator: Zollman, Dean
Publisher: Kansas State University. Dept. of Physics
Description: This resource, part of the Spectroscopy Lab Suite, illustrates the physics of a semiconductor Diode Laser. Students can create conduction and valence band energy levels and build in a bias due to impurity doping. The basic processes for light emission, including external voltage bias and level transitions are shown. The band energy levels and internal and external bias can all be adjusted to achieve an output spectrum similar to the measured physical spectrum.
