Description: This interactive presentation, created by Terry Bartelt and hosted by the Electromechanical Digital Library, discusses the history and theory of Charles's Law, which states, "the volume of a given quantity of gas varies directly with its temperature." A series of interactive flash animations show the application of this theory and demonstrate how different heating elements, such as candles and even the Sun, affect the molecules in common things such as balloons and thermometers. Mathematical equations are provided to demonstrate the calculations. Once the presentation is complete, a short quiz is provided to test the full understanding of the Charles's Law.
