Publisher: Monterey Institute for Technology and Education
Description: Presented by HippoCampus, a project of The Monterey Institute for Technology and Education, this free online course covers all of the material outlined by the College Board as necessary to prepare students to pass the AP Biology exam and is designed to acquaint visitors with "the general concepts of life including reproduction, balance in nature, and the nature of living things." This section is the first of a two-semester AP Biology course and contains six units: Introduction to Biology; Cell Structure and Function; Genes; Principles of Heredity; Evolutionary Biology; and Biological Diversity. Each unit includes readings, lessons, and assignments and/or chapter tests with answers. The site also lists all the topics covered, indexed in both alphabetical and sequential order. It's a great place for students to get extra help in Biology and for instructors to find lecture and test materials for the classroom.
