Title: Introduction to Scanning Probe Microscopy Unit
Url: http://community.nsee.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id...
Creator: Lauhon, Lincoln J.
Publisher: Nanotechnology Center for Learning and Teaching
Description: Professor Lincoln J. Lauhon of Northwestern University includes this module as an introduction to scanning probe microscopy in order to familiarize students with current surface analysis practices. Scanning tunneling microscopy and atomic force microscopy are the foci of this module. There are four lectures that use RealPlayer; their topics include principles of atomic force microscopy, imaging modes, force gradient detection, and mechanical properties of surface. There is also a PDF document of handwritten notes that correspond to each lecture. This could be a useful resource for educators to familiarize students with processes that are essential in today’s academic and industrial environments.
