Url: http://crab.rutgers.edu/~deppen/teach.htm
Creator: Wood, Monika Deppen
Publisher: Rutgers University
Description: This helpful exercise was designed to help young people, particularly undergraduate students, understand the difficulties that the aging process can pose to everyone. Designed by Monika Deppen Wood at Rutgers University, this fifty minute lesson incorporates readings and group work with the goal of revealing age-related impairments. Students simulate cataracts, arthritis, hearing trouble, and joint pressure. The objective of this class is to help students understand physical differences caused by age so that they can better study the how age is perceived in various cultures, and understand the sociological needs of aging people themselves.
