Description:
Creating interesting and compelling lessons in Economics can present several unique challenges. Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning is “a nonprofit organization created to help educators in the nation’s heartland bridge the gap between research and practice.” On this site they have compiled a series of economics lesson plans and resources for students and teachers. There are lesson plans and activities on the site for elementary, middle and high school teachers. Some of the topics covered include: budgets, interest rate, role of government, money supply, production and consumption, and savings. The “Related Resources” section provides links to many government sites (The United States Mint, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Bureau of the Public Debt) that provide educational resources for both students and teachers.
