Description: This paper describes the Women in Applied Science and Engineering (WISE) Summer Bridge Program at Arizona State University. The program is designed to prepare incoming female students for the transition from high school to the College of Engineering and Applied Science. In 2000, the participants from the previous three years were surveyed and the results indicated that the WISE Bridge Program as well as other WISE Program services such as advising, mentoring, and tutoring were significant in first semester retention.
