Description: This document from the Aerospace Manufacturing Education Project is intended to accompany a Power Point presentation on automated systems in fastener technology in the aerospace industry.

Fully and semi-automatic fastening systems including flex track, horizontal rivet injector, snake-arm robots, one piece barrel fastening and automated riveting cells are covered in these notes; the accompanying Power Point presentation may be found here.

These notes include useful photographs which may be helpful for students learning the practical applications of fastener technologies in the aerospace industry.
