Title: The Zarkah Stone: The Park Forest Meteorite Case
Url: https://www.nsta.org/ncss-case-study/zarkah-stone
Creator: Schulz, Teresa M.
Publisher: National Center for Case Study Teaching in Science
Description: This case study would be useful in a unit on meteors. It uses the example of a recent meteorite incident which occurred in Illinois to define exactly what a meteorite is (and the differences between the terms meteoroid, meteor and meteorite). The material would be appropriate for high school or lower level undergraduate students. The case study and teaching notes may be downloaded in PDF format. The site also includes a section for instructor feedback where general comments may be read and contributed.
