Url: http://sciencecases.lib.buffalo.edu/cs/collection/detail.asp?case_id=...
Creator: McCain, Elizabeth R.
Publisher: National Center for Case Study Teaching in Science
Description: This case study examines Lou Gehrig's Disease (or ALS). The example of an individual diagnosed with the disease is used to help students understand stem cell research and how stem cell therapy could be used to treat diseases. The lesson could be used in high school or undergraduate coursework, and would be most useful in health sciences curriculum. The case study and teaching notes may be downloaded in PDF format. The site also includes a section for instructor feedback where general comments may be read and contributed.
