Title: Get the Lead Out! An Interdisciplinary Case Study

Description: This interdisciplinary case study is intended to teach the nature of mining operations and their effect on the environment. Students will use atomic absorption spectroscopy to test for lead contamination in groundwater samples. The lesson would be useful for high school or lower level undergraduate students. The case study and teaching notes may be downloaded in PDF format. The site also includes a section for instructor feedback where general comments may be read and contributed.
