Title: Earthwatch Radio: Vanishing Act in the Arctic
Url: http://ewradio.org/program.aspx?ProgramID=4144
Creator: Hoops, Richard
Publisher: University of Wisconsin--Madison. Sea Grant College Program
Description: This radio broadcast features an expert in the study of the Arctic climate who has analyzed more than 20 years of satellite images that show the steady shrinking of the reflective ice cover of the Arctic Ocean. He points out that the disappearing ice cover is highly reflective and is being replaced by dark-colored ocean that absorbs more heat, and that the melting is accelerating. He also warns that the changes may be irreversible. The clip is 2 minutes in length.
