Title: Global Change - The Great Continental Drift Mystery
Url: https://teachersinstitute.yale.edu/curriculum/units/1991/6/91.06.05.x....
Creator: Van Wagner, Lois
Publisher: Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute
Description: This unit introduces students to the development of the theory of continental drift. They will examine the early work of Alfred Wegener and Alexander DuToit, investigate lines of evidence that resulted in the development of the theory, and learn about the final lines of evidence that resulted in the theory's acceptance. There is a set of activities in which the students construct a map of Pangea using Wegener's clues, familiarize themselves with some important geographic locations, and investigate how fossil distribution can be used to enhance the study of continental drift. Study questions and a bibliography are included.
