Description: Control measures developed to reduce occupational exposure for spray painting operations. Spray painting equipment used for most finish coat applications in all facets of the finishing and refinish industry atomizes the finish material resulting in the production of overspray. The type of equipment used and the correctness of its use have a significant impact on the transfer efficiency (TE) for the material being sprayed. Conventional, HVLP, LVLP spray guns, Electrostatic and powder coating systems and spray booths and other peripheral equipment are discussed.
