Description: The NACK Center is an organization committed to supporting two –year degree programs in micro and nanotechnology. The center offers online educational material for curriculum enhancement in this subject field. One of these resources, authored by Brett Criswell of Central Columbia High School, focuses on microencapsulation. The material is “content normally found in an introductory chemistry course – Arrhenius acid-base theory and weak versus strong acids and bases – and then ties in the idea of nanoencapsulation.” The lesson includes a general discussion, a sample activity set, and supplemental materials. Overall, the usefulness of this article is to provide design features for introducing nanotechnology to high school students and integration into different science disciplines.
