Title: A Science Odyssey
Url: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aso/
Publisher: Public Broadcasting Service (U.S.)
WGBH Educational Foundation
Description: PBS has created this site as a companion to its recent five-part TV series of the same name, which covered scientific advances in the last hundred years in the fields of medicine & health, physics & astronomy, human behavior, technology, and earth & life sciences. Highlights of the site are the People & Discoveries database (a searchable and browsable annotated listing of over 50 people and over 60 scientific discoveries), and You Try It, a Shockwave-based interactive activities center, demonstrating concepts like human evolution, the history of home technology, and medical advances over time. An interactive "game show" and selected comic book stories help to explain the abundant content in an entertaining, easy-to-digest format.
