Url: http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect/solarsys/solarsys.html
Publisher: University of Tennessee, Knoxville
Description: This resource covers the size and scale of Solar System objects, such as the masses, densities, and relative radii of the sun and planets; revolution and rotation of the planets; conservation of angular momentum; theories on the origin of the solar system, such as the nebular hypothesis, which includes collapsing clouds of gas and dust, a spinning nebula that flattens, and condensation of the protosun and protoplanets; star formation, planets of other stars, and the creation of new solar systems; and comparison of binary star systems and planetary systems. An astrophysical calculator is provided in the size and scale subsection.
