This classroom module will give students "an introduction to Additive Manufacturing Terminology used in manufacturing and in the classroom." The lesson focuses on orienting students to the standard ASTM International terminology used in additive manufacturing and explore the basic processes used in the field, including rapid prototyping, stereolithography, fused deposition modeling, selective layer sintering, and others. The lesson is intended to be delivered in lecture format and should take approximately 1 hour. Evaluation questions are included, and the information can be adapted for students from late middle school through early community college education.
