Problem-based Case Learning (PBCL)
Focusing on the cognitive science of “how people learn” PBCL builds on prior experience of learners, uses active learning strategies to develop depth of understanding, and incorporates metacognition to increase capacity and skill for reflection.
Significantly (as the figure of the PBCL cycle below shows), PBCL begins with an authentic business situation from the workplace, creating a WIN (industry partner)-WIN (student)-WIN (instructor) for communities across the nation.
