Digital Demo Room
Stellar Structure and Evolution Simulator

Welcome to the Digital Demo Room, Stellar Structure and Evolution Simulator!

The purpose of this simulator is for the user to be able to create and view
simulations which evolve stars on a Hertzsprung-Russell (HR) diagram.

Tutorial
This page explains everything you might need to know about the site, including directions and background physics.
Beginner Page
This page gives a beginner level interface to the stellar evolution simulations. The user will be able to view an archive of various stellar evolution simulations. While this page may be viewed by any user, its primary purpose is to give users who are unfamiliar with stellar evolution and the simulation creation procedures an opportunity to view an archive of stellar evolution simulations.
Intermediate Page
This page gives an intermediate level interface to the simulations, and is primarily for undergraduates who have some knowledge of stars and stellar evolution. The user will be able to create simulations based on the mass and metallicity parameters of the stars.
Advanced Page
This page gives an advanced level interface to the simulations, and is primarily for advanced students and experts in the field of stellar evolution. The user will be able to create simulations based on more control parameters, as well as being able to choose more preferences for the simulations.

Star Award Winner
Winner of the Griffith Observatory Star Award for the week of October 24 - 30, 2004, for excellence in promoting astronomy to the public through the World Wide Web. See http://www.GriffithObs.org/StarAward.html.
