Title: Using Remote Sensing and GIS to Analyze NDVI Values for Darfur

Description: This lesson from iGETT utilizes Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data for Darfur; students will analyze the data and examine it along with rainfall totals to determine if a water shortage occurred during a given time period. They will also examine the data to surmise if the event was a drought or part of ongoing desertification. MODIS imagery will be used in the lesson.
